Our company is continuing to grow! We have an immediate need for a Sales Estimator. This person is responsible for implementing and executing the company strategy to drive sales and revenue growth through systematic sales and estimating activities that lead to contract awards. The Sales Estimator is accountable for the achievement of revenue performance objectives and estimating accuracy and quality. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with general contractors, customers, suppliers, vendors, and governing agencies, all of which are a source of business referrals.

The Sales Estimator is one of the company’s direct contacts with all customers, working with them to understand their project needs, whether it be new construction or remodel work, determining the best solution for their situation, and then calculating an estimate of the overall cost of the work. Relationships with customers are important in this role. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales & estimating business plan.
  • Work with General Manager to make decisions for sales and estimating activities and set strategic goals.
  • Ensure general contractor / customer satisfaction by responding to requests for information and estimates in a timely manner.
  • Write estimates to produce the best overall value for the customer and job profit for BMF. Be thorough in pre-estimate fact finding. Quantify the value (not necessarily lowest price) for the customer.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems and questions from general contractors / customers / governing agencies and present solutions to issues.
  • Estimate change orders as the opportunity arises, ensure that change order revenue is tracked and added to Jobs.
  • Stay current on job costs to perform our estimate, evaluate completed job estimates against actual costs to determine any pricing adjustments needed in the estimating process.
  • Track weekly sales and estimating activities and report on key metrics.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of weekly activities as they relate to achieving sales and estimating goals. Adjust activities as needed to meet and exceed goals.
  • Follow up on estimates provided with GCs / Customers at a minimum of every two weeks or on a schedule requested by GC / Customer. ​
  • Attend industry events with the goal of branding, networking and prospecting.
  • Develop a prospecting list of new opportunities with GCs, customers and other sources with the goal of developing new sales and estimating opportunities.
  • Works to always “Sell” BMF to GCs, customers, vendors, and suppliers.

Our generous compensation package includes a base salary plus commission.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the fire sprinkler industry, whether it be in installation, estimating, sales, and/or design.
  • Excellent Data Entry Skills, thoroughness, general math skills and proficiency in computer skills (MS Office, Adobe & Google Docs, Excel)
  • Experience in contractual negotiation and managing relationships with General Contractors and other customers and in inspiring and maintaining confidence of key customers.
  • Strong punctuality, follow up and follow through
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities
  • High level of initiative and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Motivated, goal oriented, and persistent
